Literature Review Table: Instructions The purpose of the Literature Review table assignment is to allow students to illustrate their ability to identify and select research based findings. In addition, students' ability to summarize and synthesize the arguments and ideas will be exemplified through their ability to complete this assignment. Students will have to conduct at least two literature review searches. First, you will have to go through the peer reviewed research to help narrow down your Research Topic Proposal focus further. Then, you will have to do it again to select peer reviewed articles that apply to your improved research topic focus.

INSTRUCTIONS

Students will use the provided Literature Review Table: Template excel document to complete this assignment.

1. Download the Literature Review Table Template (excel file). Then look at the first sheet in this document titled Research Abstract (tabs in lower left corner). Students will copy their Research Abstract Assignment's Title and Abstract content into the noted sections. Based upon feedback you received from Dr. Stephens, you may have changed the content from what you had originally submitted- that is fine. The goal is to have a focused abstract to help guide your selection of peer reviewed research articles.

2. On the same Literature Review Table Template excel file you will complete the second part of this assignment. Look at the second sheet in this document titled Peer Reviewed Articles (tabs in lower left corner). Students will select a minimum of 15 peer reviewed articles from 2010 and later to enter on the Peer Reviewed Articles sheet. You cannot use articles already assigned in this course. Again, these must be peer reviewed research articles; chapters, textbooks, editorials, and other types or articles are not acceptable. If you are unsure of what is a peer reviewed articles, review the links provided under Literature Review Table Resources. The Online Librarian also provided a training on how to do these searches in Week 2; this session was recorded and is available for students to review. She is also available to help you during her Online Office Hours (see CALENDAR)

3. Then students will just enter the relevant information under each of the column headings listed on the second worksheet titled Peer Review Articles. Each column must be filled out in its entirety and according to the information provided in your 15 or more peer reviewed articles. If you are unclear about what is required under each column, go to the provided tab Literature Review Table Examples. There you will find a detailed list of what should be included under each column, including style and content requirements.

4. The completed Literature Review Table assignment must be submitted by 11pm on the posted due date (see SYLLABUS & CALENDAR). Late assignments will not be accepted. This includes partial assignments, incorrectly/ not uploaded or incorrect versions of assignments.
