LBTQ+ domestic violence issues
LGBTQ+ individuals may face additional challenges when it comes to domestic violence due to discrimination and prejudice. They may be less likely to report abuse because they fear that they will not be taken seriously or that they will be discriminated against by law enforcement (Townsend & Bailey, 2021). Additionally, they may have fewer resources available to them, as many shelters and domestic violence services are not equipped to deal with the specific needs of LGBTQ+ survivors.
