Literature Time - Character Project #1
Directions:
1. Choose TWO out of the FIVE listed below to complete. Each of the two are worth SEPARATE grades.
2. ALL work/links/attachments/posts MUST have your heading and real name.
3. NO profanity or visuals past the PG-13 level.
4. EACH activity has FIVE parts worth TWENTY points for each part. 20x5=100 maximum points for each

A. CD/Playlist list of Songs 1. Must provide an original designed CD cover (you can use clip art/google images, magazines, your own drawing but it MUST be your original put together creation) 2. Must include the name of the song, name of artist, the song lyrics. AND UNDER each song you MUST 3. Include the “why” does that song fit the character/scene the character is in. You are basically creating a movie “soundtrack” for this character. Each “why” must be AT LEAST two sentences. 4. Must upload the songs/videos for songs to YouTube in the same order as your rationale 5. Must have a minimum of SEVEN songs. MAXIMUM of 10 songs. |
B. Movie Poster 1. Poster must be visually appealing AND in COLOR of YOUR character/scene YOUR character is in. 2. “Person” depicted must be human and “fit” the character/traits. *Be Original Do not use the Movie Characters in your poster. 3. Must include words/phrases/typical movie poster jargon as well as images*NOT JUST QUOTES from character/play 4. Must upload movie poster to YOUTUBE with audio explaining the “why.” Why are these images/words/phrases on poster? 5. Must include a ONE paragraph rationale for why you are including the images/person/etc. |

C. “Play Acting” 1. Must create a MODERN version of ONE (or hybrid of more than one) scene of YOUR character*IF your character does not speak or rarely speaks in the play..PRETEND..give them a voice. WHAT WOULD they say? 2. Must include the ORGINAL character lines on one side and your modern lines/translation on the opposite side. *Think of a two column note. 3. Must create a “video”/Tik Tok acting out the scene-Uploaded to YOUTUBE 4. Minimum of a TWO-minute scene 5. Must include one paragraph rationale as to why you picked the scene and discuss your character’s point of view/arc

D. Song Creation 1. Using YOUR character ‘s point of view/feelings, create an ORIGINAL song, rap/battle rap (between your character and another) OR poem 2. Must include background music/beat 3. Must upload you/someone else performing/reciting “song/rap/poem” to YOUTUBE 4. Must provide written lyrics/words 5. Song/Rap/Poem length MUST be a full TYPED page (5-6 “bars”, 5-6 stanzas) 6. Must include one paragraph rationale as to why those lyrics/words and how it relates to your character |
E. Illustrated Timeline of Historical Events
1. Research the time period (DECADE) that the Story/Literature was written in.
2. Include MAJOR historical events for the decade (AT LEAST TEN)
3. Must include sources (AT LEAST 5 and NOT WIKIPEDIA)
4. Must include pictures/images for each event (AT LEAST 10 pictures)
5. Must include a “caption” under each image with the year on timeline
6. Must include one paragraph rationale as to why you picked the events and the significance of the events on the timeline.
