“The Black Cat” by Edgar Allan Poe
Instructions:
After reading the story, use Academic Search Complete to find three critical sources about the story. You may write about theme, setting, characters, or any element of the story that appeals to you. For each of the critical sources, you must have at least one in text citation in the paper. Your works cited page should have the three critical sources and your story, giving you a total of four sources.
Be sure to follow MLA formatting. Use chapter 52 in NFG for formatting information. The essay should be 3 - 3 1/2 pages plus works cited. Only the story can be from the internet. The critical sources MUST be from the database, Use poestories.com to find your story. Your first paragraph should identify the author and title of the story. Your thesis statement should indicate what element you are discussing. The second paragraph should be a short summary of the story (no more than four or five sentences).
