“Planning for the Good Life” Essay Assignment Business Ethics

– PHIL 1125, Fall 2018 – Due Date Monday, 1 October by midnight Essay Length 700 – 900 words Task Read Robert C. Solomon’s “Strategic Planning—For the Good Life” on p87 of your textbook. Using Solomon’s questions as a springboard, write your own plan for your ‘good life.’ What do you want, expect, enjoy, and need from your life? What are your aspirations, both personal and professional? What kind of relationship do you hope to achieve between your work and personal life? You should not merely answer the questions posed by Solomon, but rather use those questions to think through and formulate your own plan for your good life. Be sure that your essay is well-structured, with an introduction, body, and conclusion. Your introduction should: introduce your reader to the topic of your essay; explain why the question is interesting and worth pursuing; provide a brief overview of your good life plan. The body of your essay should provide the reader with a more detailed explanation of your plan. Try to anticipate potential challenges to the achievement of your plan and ways in which you might overcome those challenges. Be sure to end with a concluding paragraph that summarizes your main points and highlights some potential implications of your pursuit of your plan. Upload your essay as a PDF on Blackboard. This essay counts for 15% of your semester grade. Your essay will be graded according to the following:
