Summary

The Benefits Analyst will act as a Subject Matter Expert and will have a variety of

responsibilities related to processing tasks, quality management, documentation,

collaboration and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

Subject Matter Expert: The Benefits Analyst acts as a subject matter expert for

topics such as benefit administration practices, COBRA administration, processing

procedures, client-specific provisions and alternatives for service delivery.

Processing Tasks: The Benefits Analyst is responsible for reviewing, updating and

managing eligibility data, responding to HR, billing and payroll inquiries, reviewing

and responding to carrier file error reports, managing the full-cycle COBRA process in

accordance to Department of Labor requirements, completes quality assurance testing

of internal web applications and attends training sessions to build knowledge of

internal and industry topics and trends.

Quality Management: The Benefits Analyst ensures services are being completed

within the defined internal/external Service Level Agreement timelines.

Process Documentation: The Benefits Analyst should ensure that documentation

exists for all ongoing processes.

Team Collaboration: The Benefits Analyst supports one or more clients. In this

capacity, the Benefits Analyst coordinates closely with the Senior Benefits Analyst,

Delivery Leads, Client Service Representatives and external Human Resource

Representatives.

Continuous Improvements: The Benefits Analyst devises ways to continuously

improve processing operations and identifies systems/process inefficiencies.

Succeeding as a Benefits Analyst will require the following core qualifications

and skills:

Bachelor's Degree, or relevant experience, in business, human resources or related field

Minimum of 2 years of experience in of experience in Benefits, COBRA administration

Knowledge of HIPAA, ERISA, Cafeteria Plan Rules and/or state benefit continuation

guidelines preferred

Experience with data entry

Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments

Ability to work in a fast paced organization demonstrating initiative and independence
