2. Requesting Flexible Work Hours: City of Charlotte

While the primary business needs of the City and its customers must take precedence, the City also wants to meet employees’ needs when possible. The City of Charlotte recognizes that different employees have different needs and preferences regarding work hours. Supervisors are encouraged to be flexible when considering employees’ requests to work alternative schedules.

FLSA Fact Sheet #53 – The Health Care Industry and Hours Worked The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires covered employers to pay non exempt employees at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009, for all hours worked and overtime pay for for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
