PEERS POST:
Early childhood education can be considered the foundation of learning and helps learners determine the projection of their future education. Children that have been enrolled in early childhood learning programs often show more success at school and tend to have better career opportunities as adults as well as improved health outcomes. Hence, early childhood education is an investment because it aims at developing the character and cognitive skills individuals need to excel in the future. Early childhood programs also tend to provide broad experiences to the learners while others focus on specific needs such as music besides helping parents to nurture their children and mold them into responsible individuals. As an early childhood education leader, I have multiple responsibilities to ensure the effective running of the programs and positive outcomes for the learners and the community. The responsibilities of an administrator tend to be varied with the first focus involving serving the children and their families, which means collaborations with staff, families, and community members. As a leader, I am responsible for overseeing the hiring and training of staff and ensuring good relations with the community to support learning. I am also responsible for the management of resources that help support learning such as materials, supplies, and equipment, and the human resources to ensure the proper running of the early childhood program. Priorities are often key to the success of any program and are especially critical in early childhood programs. Hence, administrators should be capable of setting priorities to overcome the challenges associated with running an early childhood program. Therefore, I am aware and capable of making difficult choices on the tasks that should be accomplished promptly and those that can take a while to ensure the effective running of the facility. This means prioritizing parents' concerns and creating budgets to ensure continued operations while balancing tasks.
