Leadership Project Identification Assignment

1. What is the nature of your project? This is a brief definition of your project that identifies what it is about

Encouraging Macomb Community college to offer more classes for students in both building and remote.

2. Why is this project needed? Why do you want to do this? In other words, what motivates you to take on this project?

To assist students in reducing the amount of time they spend outside, particularly during rush hour. Give them a few options and let them sign up for these classes during any semester based on their schedule. I firmly believe that this project is beneficial, particularly for students who are also parents and need more free time to spend with their families. Personally, I have found it difficult to attend classes at the south building after driving an hour when I could attend classes at the center campus, which is closer to where I live for 5 minutes or even having remote classes. Furthermore, this class is only offered twice a year and only on the south campus, making students wait an extra semester to graduate.

3. What is the objective of this project? (e.g. create a program to have elementary students visit the library)

Make more classes available for students to register for or offer more remote classes for each semester rather than just once or twice a year.

4. Who else will be involved?

Students, professors, Academic advisors, and staff members.

5. What is your ultimate goal or deliverable for the project?

The project's overarching objective is to provide more opportunities for students who require assistance with having flexible schedules to take those classes on campus, online, or at any time during the year.

6. How will you measure the success? These are the “metrics”

We can gauge the success of this by the number of students who graduate earlier because of having these classes more frequently, as well as student surveys about their experiences with having these classes online or on both campuses. In addition, the number of students who graduated in comparison to previous years is recorded.
