Assignment

Select from one of the following four films:

· Invictus (Topic: Creating a vision)

· The Devil Wears Prada (Topic: Tasks and Relationships)

· The Big Short (Topic: Ethics in Leadership)

· Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows (Topic: Overcoming Obstacles)

You are to write a 3-5 page essay (not including reference page and cover page) while addressing the following:

· Watch carefully leadership traits on display in scenes from the movie you selected.

· Identify and describe leadership traits demonstrated by the main character(s).

· What are some traits we see from the protagonists?

· What is the take-away with respect to leadership and communication that you can take away from this film?

· Identify the in- and out- groups.

· What type of leadership style do you feel the protagonist displays? Why?

Do not submit a film critique or review. You are to discuss the connection between communication, leadership skills, traits, and theories that are demonstrated by the protagonists of the film. Each of the films has a particular topic associated with it. For example, if you select The Big Short explain the importance of ethics in leadership, discuss in group and out groups

Evaluation

Your paper will be evaluated on the following:

· Content

· Grammar

· Structure and mechanics

· Relevance to the topic(s)

Format

Your paper is to be written in an APA-Style format . This includes the following:

· 12 point font

· Times New Roman font

· Double-spaced

· 1 inch margins

· cover page

· reference page

· in-text citations

Written Assignment Submission Guidelines

1. Review the detailed written assignment instructions on how to submit your assignments and how to review the comments (feedback) from your professor.

2. All written assignments on Canvas will be run through Turnitin to check for plagiarism. Your submission should not exceed 25% in similarity.

3. Written assignment dropboxes will be available within the Assignments link off the course tools menu on the left hand side of the page within Canvas, as well as in their respective modules as outlined in the syllabus.

4. Within one week after the assignment's deadline has passed, you will receive written feedback on your assignment.

5. Late submissions will only be accepted for a maximum of 7 days past the due date. For every day an assignment is late, 10% will be deducted from the original point value, with a maximum reduction of 50% on assignments submitted 7 days past the original due date. Please refer to the "Acceptance of Late Assignments" section of the syllabus for more information.
