Why the study is important? ★ Benefit the industry: The need for global leaders ★ Benefit the students: Demonstrating the opportunities for
development of leadership skills in a safe environment ★ Benefit the researchers: added value to the research in contrast to
adult leadership (Dempster & Lizzio, 2007) ★ Benefit the society: Promoting social responsibility, community
leadership, active citizenship, service leadership ( Chapman & Aspin, 2001; Hawkes, 1999)
Research Question How does taking a leadership position in a student organization (ESN) contribute to the development of leadership skills of an individual?
● What do student understand to be their roles in the non-profit student organization? How they view their leadership identity?
● What do the student leaders experience in terms of leadership opportunities and activities as they participate in managing of ESN section
● Which opportunities (activities) within the scope of ESN do students feel have positively contributed to their experience as leaders? Challenged them? Were ineffective or irrelevant to their development as future leaders
● What do students leaders perceive to be the benefits or shortcomings of taking part in student organization?
● What beneficial personal outcomes or leadership growth do the students exhibit as a result of their involvement as leaders at ESN?
