brand
You have most likely taken time to understand and build a brand focus for your venture but what about your leadership style? How would you “sell” yourself as an entrepreneurial leader? This week, you are developing your leadership brand. Review your leadership assessment results from Week 2 and the traits and behaviors discussed this week to select three to four areas that represent you as a leader. Take those areas and create a PowerPoint presentation of 3-4 slides (excluding title and reference slides) and “sell” who you are as a leader. You want to expand on the areas to show how each represents you.
Note: Be creative! Do you not just list your previous job positions on PowerPoint slides and move on. You want to sell who you are as a leader.
Hint: Get your family and friends involved. Look for images, quotes, clips, etc. that represent who you are as an entrepreneurial leader.
Have fun with this assignment, you never know, it may be a presentation you add to the website of your venture.
My results were as follow
• Ambassador – your score is 14 points out of 25 • Advocate – your score is 16 out of 25 • People Mover – your score is 15 out of 25 • Truth-Seeker – your score 13 out of 25 • Creative builder – your score is 16 out of 25 • Experienced guide – your score is 13 out of 25
I can say I am not surprised my results. I pretty much expected that those answers would be what they are.
Ambassador
My Ambassador says that I know how to handle a bunch of situations with grace. I am one to diffuse a situation before letting it get out of hand. The ones getting involved in conflicts on behalf of broad constituencies, as opposed for their own benefit.
Advocate
My advocate part was right on he head. I act as a spokes person whenever I am in a group. I am the one on the group that tends to be tend to be articulate, rational, logical, and persuasive person of the group.
I am a people mover. I tend to take the lead when it comes to putting stuff together and helping to build a team. I can also take the mentor position when needed to this particular description hit me dead on the head. I live outside of work as well so this is was a down to the tee description.
Truth-Seeker
I am a truth seeker at heart. I tend to be fair, use good judgment, be very level-headed when making decisions, and I am unfailingly competent in my field. I am one that does not mind helping people understand new rules and policies.
Creative Builder
My creative builder description was right as well. I am a entrepreneur who do not mind starting new things, selling new products and opportunities as well as always want to do new things. I am a visionary I can see things before I accomplish them. I do not like to sit still. staying in one place for to long makes me upset and i tend to start doing things that I probably shouldn't do. This is because I get bored fairly quickly. The style that is most helpful to me is the creative builder style. This is because I now know what I start to do anything when I get bored and that is because I do not like staying in the same place for a long period of time doing the same things over and over.
