Integrating Leadership Concepts

Leadership is generated from the word “Leader”, where by leaders are people who help people to do right thing in different organization or a group of people who are channeled to the same direction to a specific work. They normally do their work by building inspiring vision to the involved subjects, thus creating something new. While leadership is the act of mapping out where it is needed to go and win as a team or an organization, it can be dynamic or exciting but in most cases the act must be inspiring. For a leader to set direction for a team, they must have management skills, so as to guide their people to right destination, in an efficient way that satisfy each and every member involved in team.

Personal Definition of Leadership

Based in leadership there is always goals for the organization that a leader set to run or leading, the targets are set depending on the management skills of leadership. Creating an inspiring vision of the future is the major skill management of the leadership that is mostly applied by leaders, a vision must be realistic, convincing and attractive depiction of where the organization goals are set to be in the future. Vision provides direction for an organization, their set priorities, and also provides a maker, so that the organization can be on a clear view of what they have achieved and what they are yet to achieve. To create vision leaders majorly focus on the strength of the organization by using some of their tools such as USP Analysis, to analyze their current situations. In most case leaders think how there are likely to involve, and also how their competitors are likely to behave. They based on how they can innovate successfully, and shape their businesses and strategies to succeed in future marketplaces of their target. They normally test their vision with appropriate market research.

Leaders must make the compelling and convincing vision to their involved subjects. A compelling vision is one that people can see, feel the turn out of their work, understand how it will be and lastly embrace the vision in a positive ways. Effective and respected leaders always provides a wider and rich picture of what the future will look like when their vision have been realized. They tell many inspiring stories and explain their vision in a way that everyone can relate to and understand. They do relate stories by combining the analytical side of the vision created with the passion of shared values, which leads in creating something that is really meaning full to the people being led.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

It is one of the introspective self-report questionnaire that is designed to indicate the psychological preferences in how people may perceive the great world surrounding them, and how they make their decisions. The MBTI was mainly constructed and it based on the typological theory, it was speculated and that there is four principle of psychological functions, by which leaders experience when they are faced with critical thinking and feeling on how the lead. The MBTI was constructed for normal population and that it emphasizes the value of naturally occurring difference in the society. The underlying assumption of the MBTI is that we all value specific preferences in a way in which we construe our experience, thus this preferences underlie our interest. A good leader should always have different type of preference for him or her to be on a straight line to lead people.

Big Five Personalities

It is well known as factor model (FFM), it is a model that is based on a common language descriptor of a personality. When the factor analysis is applied to a great personality survey data, some words that are used to describe aspects of personality are likely to be applied to the same person. Such as when a person is described as conscientious the act is more likely to be described as always prepared rather than being more type of messy. This theory widely suggest the five broad dimensions that are used by some psychologists to describe the human personality and their psyche. The five factor has always been known as the openness to experience and neuroticism that are mostly applied by leaders who are in extensive power. These five factors can be found in consistent with the lexical hypothesis, it is based on the personality characteristics that are mostly important to people lives and that it will eventually become a part of their language skills. While the more important personality characteristics are mostly likely to be encoded into language with a single word used.

To be recognized as a good leader, a person should be open to his fellow members. This expectation motivates people to work hard in order to achieve success, because they expect to enjoy rewards and incentives, both as intrinsic and extrinsic as a results of hard work done by people. Other approaches may include restating the vision in terms of the benefits that it will bring to the team of customers, and taking frequent opportunities to communicate the vision in an attractive manner and most engaging way.

In order to motivate and inspire people, a leader must have expert power that people admire and believe in these leader because they are expert in what they do. Leaders have a higher percentage of credibility, and that they have earned the right to ask people to listened to them and follow them. This helps such kind of leaders to motivate and inspire the people they lead. Leaders can also motivate and influence people through their natural charisma and appeal of their power.

Emotional Intelligence

Generally power means many different things to different people in different places. In some power is seen as a corrupt ways of expressing something. While to some people, it is believed the more power they have the more successful they feel. But there are people who don’t really take power as anything to them at all, simply because they don’t have any interest at it. There are five bases of power based on leadership. The study shows that different type of power affects one’s leadership ability and their success in a leadership role.

Power is gained when people from different places trusted a certain person based on what he does for them. The act should be negative for a person to earn respect and trust from people for what they handle together. A good example of referent power is associated with the human resource manager who is known for ensuring that employees are all treated quadratic fairly, and coming to the rescue of those who are not treated fairly to carter for their needs for them to be on the same level too according to the work schedule and ranks.

Politics

Most of the organization politics are linked to leadership and management. This is because the direction and resolutions are directly highly impacted by it. The manger of a small business company, his or her a role as a leader is to intricately connect to the company political climate. Many organizational politics emerge when a particular individual has his own agenda and interest at heart with regards of how the action affects the organizational as a whole. At the expenses of others and sometimes the company’s objectives to be achieved, a leader might use the manipulation and self-serving behavior to promote him or her interest.

The relationship of leadership and politics in an organization can be understood by viewing leadership as an occurrence in the form of groups. In such cases, the actions of a leader tend to influence the subordinates so that they can voluntarily corporate to meet the organizational goals. How the leader exercise the authority determines the political climate within the company or organization. Politics at work is mostly inevitable.

The organizational politics can generally low morale to members of the organization, and it can leads to unproductive and unpleasant environment. As a good and dedicated leader, it is critical to understand the reason for political behavior and use the appropriate strategy to silence it so that the employees can stay focus on the organizational outcome reports. By applying more favorable leadership qualities, such as inspiring employees so that they can highly perform at their work, helps a leader to set a positive example.

Self-Efficacy

It is also referred as the personal efficiency, it is basically confidence in one’s personal ability to achieve the required intended results. Self- efficacy affects every area in human endeavor accordingly. It does this by determining believe of a person holds regarding his or her power to affect the major situation. It is strongly influences both the power of a person who actually has to face challenges completely, and the choice of a person who is likely to make. These effects are apparent, and that they are compelling, with regards to behavior affect the organization.

When a good leader is in place of the company, it can be felt throughout the entire organization circle. (1996, Crow) With good leadership in place, corporate culture is not forced, it is developed with time. Communication is daily and open to all members. Everyone is able to understand the vision and the goals of the organization, and everyone has an input into how they can be improved. Employees always feel that they are an important of the whole organization and every job matter within the company involved. The decision for promotion are based on picking people with high integrity whose talent and experience fits the position. Employees are daily encouraged to compete with their own best to get ahead, and also they understand that helping their coworkers to succeed is the best way to get ahead themselves in the company. The result of good leadership build up the morale and good employee’s retentions, thus helps in sustaining long term success in an organization.

How Self-Efficacy Affects Human Functioning

Bad leadership can also be felt in an entire organization, it is only not in a good way. Most of the corporate culture became meaningless terms where leaders claim exists while employees shake their heads in frustration mode. There is lack of clear and consistent communication from leader to employees. As a result the office is run by the rumor mills and gamesmanship. Most of the employees will be uncertain of the company’s goals or target for success and that they have no idea how to fit into the picture. Based on the bad leadership decision for promotion is not always based on the integrity or talent of a person. But rather they are based on who can talk the greatest talk in the organization, or a person who is deemed to be the least threatening to the current leadership team in the company. (1996,Mathew) Employees are taught to play dirty against their fellow coworkers to get ahead by watching as it is continuously rewarded by leadership leading to the lobster syndrome of tearing one another down throughout the company members. The results of bad leadership is low morale and decreased ability to have any sustained success. In order for a company to be great, there must be a great leader who knows how to manage the whole system in a proper way.

Companies can never afford to have poor leadership if it wants to be successful, the success of a company is also based on the good or services offered by the company that adds value to the lives of its customers, while providing a positive working environment the leadership system must be efficient, thus allowing employees to flourish and grow in their talents and ability as well as their personal value system, all while generating a profitable returns for shareholders of the company If a company is not doing all the required act of a great leadership, then it is not truly successful. Employees can never flourished under a poor leadership system, and when they are faced with having to follow poor leaders in an organization, company risks in losing their very best and most talent people who may be of great help in the future of the organization. (Stanfield, 2009)

Conclusion:

A leaderless organization is like a full army without a general, work forces need the leadership of a very high level of skilled and experienced person to provide guidance and single directions for all employees to follow. Leaders are always invaluable when it comes to formulating and communicating new statistics directions. In this 21st century there are different types of company that do exist all around the world. First there is a company limited by guaranteed, it is commonly used where a company is formed for non-commercial purposes, such as clubs.

. The members of the company guarantee payments of a certain amount if the company hoes into insolvent liquidation for a while, but they have no economic rights to company involved. Such type of company is commonly found in England. The company limited by guaranteed may be with or without having the share capital of the members. A company limited by shares is also one of the company type that is mostly used for a business virtue. Specifically a limited company is a type company in which the liability of each shareholder is always limited to the amount individual invests in cooperate.
