Hello,

This is an interesting post and I agree with you that strategic alliance occurs between two or more parties that wish to unite in their operations. Such alliances can be joint ventures where parent companies form a new child company, equity alliances where a company purchases an equity percentage of another company or non-equity strategic alliances where more than two firms sign a contract sort of relationship to put their capabilities and resources together (Snell, S., & Bateman, 2015). I liked when you mentioned the alliance between IBM, Sony and Apple to create more improved platforms and increase marketing of products.

I think that the alliances between the three tech companies would definitely improve their operations and create new products. This alliance was effective and I agree with your answer that first, it would improve the manufacturing methods, this means that different knowledge from the companies would be matched to improve the operations and enable more research and development (Gomes, 2019). Keep up the good work.

Hi,

You have done a good job and I could not agree more than second your definition that a strategic alliance is a mutual arrangement which occurs between two different companies which benefit mutually from the alliance. In most cases this alliance is less complex and binding. It is good that you mentioned how companies enter into strategic alliances for various reasons including expansion of their market share, improve their product line and form a competitive edge especially in this competitive business environment.

The strategic alliance between Disney and Hewlet-Packard has been beneficial because at the time it was launched it was to last for more than 10 years. I learned that both companies wanted to elevate consumer entertainment experiences through collaborative development of entirely new technologies (Ina, 2017). I agree with you that this alliance opened up ideas for IT companies and local artists for instance local puppeteers teaming up with tech companies to enhance holiday show entertainment. Nice work.
