In your final project, you will be developing a change plan for Alaska Airlines. In order to begin developing this change plan, you will need to analyze the case study and diagnose the problem.

This discussion will help you to become more familiar with the six parts of the Analysis and Diagnosis section of the final project case study:

· Problem

· Impact

· Organizational Needs

· Variables

· Underlying Causes

· Gaps

Assignment Details:

Choose one of the parts above and become an ‘expert’ on that part of the Final Project and the information related to that part from the case study.

For your initial post, identify which section you are an ‘expert’ on, summarize your understanding of what is being required of you for your chosen part as well as related content from the case study, and address the corresponding prompt for your section, located in the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document under critical element I: Analysis and Diagnosis.

Specifically, choose one of the following critical elements to address and answer the related question under your choice:

I. Analysis and Diagnosis

A. What is the problem in need of addressing at this point in time? Describe which forces are driving the change effort.

B. How did this problem arise? Determine how this problem is currently impacting the organization.

C. Identify the specific organizational needs driving the change. Explain each.

D. Identify specific variables, conditions, issues, individuals, and other factors that will impact the change effort negatively. Describe how these should be handled prior to planning the change effort.

E. What are the underlying causes of the problem? How should these be addressed?

F. Identify the gap between what the problem’s current situation is and what the hoped-for targeted outcome will be. Establish what needs to occur to build a process to bridge this gap.
