Peer 1:

When I think of change, I don't consider it a bad thing because if applied in the right way, it can achieve great things. I see change as an opportunity to break out of the norm and bubble and try new things and techniques. Change allows us to figuring out new things, being innovative, collaborate with others, and have a chance to share our thoughts and opinions. In the world that we live in today, change is constant and things and people are constantly changing. For an organization to stay successful  and thrive, they need to open and adaptable to change. Every organization will run into the issue of team members not being on board with the change, but by having the proper process of change, tools and templates the change will better accepted and have a higher rate of success (Aziz & Curlee, 2017). When change is implemented the right way it will allow for evolvement and new developments. As mentioned earlier, I work for an organization that has been through some big changes, but one thing I know for a fact is that Rocket Mortgage does an outstanding job at introducing the change and setting out a plan to make sure the change works out in the company's favor. An organization should control the change, not the change control the organization.

Peer 2:

I have been a part of a few organizations that went through a process of organizational change, and each of these change experiences were difficult to experience because of things like poor communication, resistance from staff, and poor planning. One organization in particular had a policy of communicating major changes in the month or even on the day the changes were occurring. This typically resulted in quite a bit of resistance, especially since there always seemed to be changes that were happening and people were getting tired of it.

Although organizational change can be hard when navigated poorly, it is an important part of organizational success. According to an article in the Harvard Business Review, organizational change is "necessary for companies to succeed and grow" as things like new technology, global expansion, the need for remote work systems, new leadership, and the adoption of new business models so the company can move forward into the future all impact the organization (Stobierski, 2020).

However, the strategies surrounding the change are just as important, as I personally experienced during the experiences I described above. Without effective strategies, organizational change can be "rocky and expensive in terms of both time and resources and can result in low morale and poor skill development" (Stobierski, 2020). Ultimately, poor change strategies and poor change management can lead to organizational failure.
