What are some of the reasons that intellectual property requires different legal protections than tangible or real property?

Because intellectual property is not a tangible product that can essentially be held and seen in the same respect as property such as an office building or a company vehicle, it requires different protections. Intellectual property is created and as such could potentially be stolen and replicated without the hard work that it took to create it. Individuals could also take credit for something they did not work for and do not have a right to. This is why it is so important to protect. Intellectual property can be protected through patents, copy rights, and trade secret laws such as the Lanham Act of 1946, which protects both registered and non-registered trademarks (Lee, 2019). The best way to protect intellectual property is to register patents, copyrights, and trademarks. This ensures that individuals who try to replicate the work or steal the ideas are breaking the law and could potentially be held responsible for damages for doing so. It its more difficult to prove ownership of intellectual property if the property is not easily identified as belonging to one person through registration. Respond?
