Airbnb

Airbnb ( https://www.airbnb.com/) is a good system. Airbnb is a company that operates an online marketplace for homestays. I have used the Airbnb website to rent out various homes and find affordable accommodation in various regions. Airbnb's website is a good system because it is user-friendly. The website resonates with its target audience. The homepage is narrowly focused. When one enters the website, the first thing to see in various places they can stay for a short time.  

The Airbnb website makes it easy for users to locate various hotels and homes for rent. It also makes it easy for users to select various types of properties such as hotels at national parks, farms, and the beach. One can select their holiday destination on the homepage. The website provides various destinations and an option to select check-in dates on the homepage. 

The website has a great design. The main page of the website has a very clear design. Each element is simple. Those who land on the homepage can see a search box as the main focus. There are links to social media platforms at the bottom of the homepage. The website offers various apartment listings making it easy for users to make their selections. It does not feel cluttered. The website design seems to be well-thought. 

The system has mobile compatibility. Those who use smartphones can assess the system. The system’s simplicity makes it accessible to various types of users. The information architecture of the system is also well-planned. The content has been formatted properly, making it easy for the users to navigate the system. There is an appropriate contrast between the website’s content and background making it easy for users to read content and focus on specific things. 

Yahoo

Yahoo ( https://www.yahoo.com/) is not so good. I think this system is not so good because it has too much whitespace. Too much whitespace makes the website unattractive. It also causes clutter and makes users uninterested in viewing the website. The homepage has poor readability due to the font size. Website visitors are likely to miss some headlines due to the small font size. There are many ads on the homepage.  

The many ads on the website’s homepage cause viewing problems. The ads make it hard for users to focus on website content. Smartphone users find it difficult to use the Yahoo website because it is loaded with many ads leading to slow speeds. The ads present users with many options leading to confusion. Users find it difficult to locate the services they want after accessing the website. 

The system is not easily connectable and has poor functionality. The website has been designed for users to access news and information on various topics such as finance and sports. It has also been designed to access mail. However, it is difficult for mobile users to access mail. Mobile users cannot see some of the website contents on the homepage that can be seen by laptop users. 

Yahoo should improve the system by being mindful of the whitespace used. The website should not contain many ads. Yahoo should understand that the ads make it difficult for users to scroll down. The website can be improved by reducing the whitespace that makes it unattractive and undesirable to the users. 

Yahoo should be mindful of mobile users. Mobile users do not get access to some of the services provided on the website. Those who access such services face challenges accessing them. The system should be easy to use for both mobile and PC users. It should be optimized for various devices. The homepage should be highly usable. Yahoo should use a greater overall design in its website. The website can communicate value and build trust with users if it has a good design. It should use whitespace, font, colors, and layout effectively.
