Title:
Purpose:
Methods: Lab book page 447 – 451 video observations posted on Brightspace
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np87w5kCL-4
Obtain one colony with swab
Swipe back and forth with swab to inoculate the plate (spread lawn of bacteria)
Place disk on the surface of the plate
Tap disk gently to ensure the disk stays in place
Incubate at 37C for 24 hours
Inspect the plates for Zone Of Inhibition (ZOI) around each antibiotic soaked disk
Measure the ZOI in mm
Use the chart below to identify which antibioitcs the bacteria can be killed with
Results observed:
Use Kirby-BauerData for lab report powerpoint to fill in the table
All measurement are in millimeters

Conclusion:
1)Name 4 mistakes that the person wearing white gloves made in setting up the KB assay in the you tube video
2)When this conclusion is finished there will be the site of action of 8 different antimicrobial compounds plus the drug to stop the bacterial virulence factor.
This is a review of the antibiotics and their site of action
For each antibiotic CIP, K, PB, TE, S, SXT, P and isoniazid (not in pictures but in lab 7) tell the site of action. For AMC explain what clavulanic acid does to allow amoxicillin to be more effective.
This means there will be an least nine sentences below
