“2. What type of epithelium did you observe in the prepared slide of the penis? “
The stratified squamous epithelium which is lined with the urethra and simple squamous epithelium which is lined with sinuses.
“3. Which layer of the uterus forms a new functional layer each month? “
The endometrium

Post-Lab Questions
1. What is the most superior part of the male reproductive system? What is the most superior part of the female reproductive system?
The ductus deferens is the most superior part of the male reproductive system and the fundus is the most superior part of the female reproductive system.
Lab 18 The Reproductive System BIO202L 2. Which component of the female reproductive tract is more medial: the corpus luteum or the
myometrium?
The myometrium
3. How many seminal vesicle(s) are there in the male reproductive system?
There are 2 seminal vesicles
4. Relate the location of the myometrium to the endometrium.
Endometrium is more medial. It's the inner layer of the uterus, while myometrium is the
most outer layer of the uterus.
5. Relate the location of the prostate to the deferent duct.
Prostate is inferior and medial to the deferment duct
Experiment 3: Fetal Pig Dissection: The Reproductive System
Post-Lab Questions “1. Describe any observations you made while dissecting the reproductive system of your pig. “
Because my pig was a female, the reproductive system includes the urogenital papilla, ovary, bladder, urethra and uterus. But the uterus looks different from the ones of a human. It has two uterine horns.
“2. What is meant by urogenital opening? “
It's the opening to the urinary and reproductive system.
“3. Why do most male mammals have testes in an external sac? “
Because testes require low temperature in order to actively function. Therefore it lies in an external sac because it's temperature is lower than the body temperature.
“4. What are two functions of the vagina? “
It serves as the passageway for a newborn and the site of sperm deposition.
