Lab 1: Creating a Presentation with Pictures Note: To complete this assignment, you will be required to use the Data Files.

Problem: Your friend, Bobby, has expanded her Bake Shoppe and wants to publicize new offerings. She has asked you to help her create a presentation that showcases pastries and breads. You prepare the PowerPoint presentation shown.

Perform the following tasks:

1. Run PowerPoint. Create a new presentation using the Retrospect document theme. Do not change the variant.

2. Using Figure 1–80a, create the title slide. Type the title text and subtitle text shown in the figure. Decrease the font size of the title text to 60 point and bold this text. Change the font color to Orange, Accent 1 (in Theme Colors row).

3. On Slide 1, insert the illustration called Bakery, which is located in the Data Files. Move the illustration up to the top of the slide and then use the Smart Guides to align its left and right edges with the sides of the text placeholders. Use the lower-center sizing handle to resize this illustration so that it fits above the title text.

4. Replace the words, Anytown, USA, with your hometown city and state.

5. Create Slide 2 using the Title Only layout. Type the title text, Fresh Daily, bold this text, and then change the font color to Orange, Accent 1 (in Theme Colors row). Insert the picture called Doughnut, which is located in the Data Files, resize it as shown in

then move it to the left side of the slide. Insert the picture called Muffin, which is located in the Data Files, and then resize and move it to the right side of the slide, as shown in the figure.

6. Using Figure 1–80c as a guide, create Slide 3 using the Picture with Caption layout. Insert the picture called Bread, which is located in the Data Files. Type the title text, Artisan Breads, increase the font size to 48 point, and then bold this text. Type All natural ingredients as the subtitle text, press the Tab key four times, and then type No Preservatives placeholder. Increase this subtitle text size to 28 point.

7. Create a closing slide by duplicating Slide 1. Change the subtitle text using Figure 1–80d as a guide.

8. Apply the Clock transition in the Exciting category to all slides. Change the duration to 2.00 seconds.

9. Click the ‘Start From Beginning’ button to start the show from the first slide. Then click to display each slide and again to end the presentation.

10. Save the presentation using the file name, Lab 1-1 Bake. Submit the document in the format specified by your instructor.

What is the significance of changing the font color on Slides 1 and 2 but not Slide 3?
