My name is Chuck Manto. For the last thirty or so years, I’ve been involved in information, communication, or energy technology. I’ve been involved in technology either from the standpoint of being an inventor, I have a half a dozen patents; an entrepreneur, I’ve raised money to start companies; an investment analyst, I’ve helped evaluate or coordinate the evaluation of about two hundred deals for about ten million dollars in investment each.
And so, over the course of my career I’ve been around the table either from the standpoint of being the inventor, the owner, the manager, the investment analyst, or even sometimes the guy who’s passing out the money. In that role, I’ve often had to look at economic development implications of what we were doing and policy ramifications as well.
