Unethical behaviors in business are those that are defined as morally wrong. On the other hand, illegal business activities are those that are against the law. Unethical acts are decided in the conscience of the man and maybe against moral ethics and not the law. The illegal behaviors in business are easier to detect because they go against established law. This is as opposed to the unethical behaviors where people may have different opinions when it comes to whether something is ethical or not. Therefore, ethical behaviors vary from one person to another whereas the law is common to everyone.
Some examples of unethical behaviors include deliberate deception where an individual uses deceptive measures to sabotage the work of another person or to misrepresent the products. It can also be in the form of a violation of conscience were the superior force the junior employees to make wrong decisions. People can also fail to honor commitments in a business resulting in unethical behaviors. However, illegal behaviors in business include discriminatory actions, theft, and improper treatment of the employees. Some laws are established to protect against all these actions and hence when one is involved then they have to face the law.
