Mini Analysis I
This assignment represents 10% of your overall course grade. Corresponding course objectives include bullets 1, 2, & 5 in the syllabus.
Mini Analysis I requires you to describe and explain the unique nature of sport marketing. For this assignment, you will identify a “Great Sport Marketing Idea” and relate that idea, promotion, or strategy to the unique characteristics of sport marketing and strategic marketing management. Ideally, the “idea” and the host organization is within your area of career interest.
Assignment components include:
Great Idea (1.5 points): Identify a real life sport marketing idea, strategy, or promotion that you perceive as a “great sport marketing idea.” Explain the idea, strategy, or promotion in detail. Discuss the purpose of the idea, strategy, or promotion.
Rationale (2.5 points): According to your chapter and peer-reviewed readings, explain why this is a “great” idea, strategy, or promotion. You should link your support and rationale to sport marketing theory. You should use at least three (3) refereed/peer-reviewed sources to support your rationale.
Nature of Sport Marketing (2 points): You’ve read and reviewed the unique nature and characteristics of sport marketing. How does the idea, promotion, or strategy you’ve identified exemplify and/or reflect some of the unique characteristics of sport marketing? Be specific in your linkages and explanations. You should use at least two (2) refereed, peer-reviewed sources in supporting your statements.
Implications and Practical Application (3 points): What can other sport entities learn from this idea, promotion or strategy? Be specific. How could it be implemented or modified to benefit your respective organization? If the “idea” is from an organization not within your career interests, you will need to specifically address what, how, and why sport organizations within your area of interest could learn or benefit from the “great idea”.
Format (1 point): You should adhere to the following format when completing this assignment:
• Do not exceed two typed pages written in block paragraph format.
• Use Times New Roman 11 or 12 point font.
• Use headings and subheadings as indicated above.
• Number your pages
• Do not indent paragraphs
• Use single spacing with double spacing only between paragraphs
• Use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• References and citations must be in APA format, 6th ed.
