In some courses, you may be asked to submit a recorded presentation. The easiest

way to do so is using CaptureSpace in ulearn.

Instructions 1. Click on the assignment link.

2. In the Assignment Submission section, click Write Submission to show the text editor.

3. In the text editor, click Mashup, then select Kaltura Media.

4. In the Kaltura Media window, select Add New and then CaptureSpace.

5. The first time you use CaptureSpace, you will be prompted to install the recorder. Select the

correct download for your operating system.

6. There are 4 options to choose from depending on the type of assignment. Select the option you

want to use and follow the on-screen instructions. You can easily pause, cancel, and restart the

recording as needed.

 Screen – Useful for capturing a narrated PowerPoint presentation.

 Screen & Webcam – Use this when you want to record your computer screen, audio,

and yourself on a webcam.

 Webcam – Use this when you are just recording yourself with video and audio.

 Voice – This option just records your audio.

7. Once you start your recording a smaller window will appear. Press Done when finished

Note: Once your recording begins this menu will be minimized and you can click on it from the

taskbar to open it.

8. Edit your video, if necessary, by selecting the Trim, Chop, Titles, or Credits button.

Trim: Trim the beginning and end of your video.

Chop: Chop out parts of the video.

Titles: Add a title to the start of your recording.

Credits: Add credits to the end of your recording.

9. When adding a title to your presentation there are several templates you can choose from by

scrolling left or right.

10. After you have edited your video, give your recording a Title and Description, and select Upload.

11. Once you have uploaded your video to Kaltura you will have to return to the assignment submission

page. Click on Mashup then Kaltura Media (just like step 3). Select the video you just recorded.

You can see that your video has been uploaded to the text editor box.

12.When finished, make sure to click the Submit button on the lower right.
