Program Profile: Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) is the program I came across. It is a program used to help prevent gang affiliation. I would help encourage every student to be a part of the group to not only stay out of trouble but also learn more about law enforcement. Knowing not only parents care about the well being of them and also who they hang around can help shape them into better role models. Not every child wants to talk to their parents so being a part of thr group helps with advice and maturity as well as staying out of trouble. The G.R.E.A.T. program targets youths as they begin middle school. It is even state nation wide." The G.R.E.A.T. Program also includes a six-lesson elementary school curriculum, a summer component, and a family-strengthening program for parents and children called G.R.E.A.T. Families". It helps prevent against violence and teaches young children 4th grade and up to stay positve and make the right choices. I would start by introducing them to group activites, for fun and learning at the same time, because those who go to school and skip school do not want to be in an group learning like sitting at a book and reading it. Hands on learning and teaching would be my go too. Ephesians 5:11
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

In Los Angeles California , East LA has a long history of gang violence that the actual city had petitions signed for assistance in controlling and helping the community. (Gang Reduction Program (Los Angeles, California) -Youth.gov) With over 2,000 known gang members alone in the small city of East LA, it was to much for the police department and community to handle. For prevention of not only the gangs but the community as a whole, I would say that a prevention of certain things to help these teens become a positive citizen in society, would consist of academic assistance with children and teens and mentors who could act as a positive ro- model. After school sports would help with young men to become part of a positive system. As it comes to the ideas of coordinating the ideas and plans to help stop the rate crime, There should be more police presence making sure gangs are not gathering and patrolling to keep innocent residents out of harm. Gang injunctions are another thing I'd put into place because it would become like a restringing order, and if violating it while spending time with other known members that would lead to an immediate arrest. (Gang Reduction Program (Los Angeles, California) -Youth.gov) With help from the LAPD, probation, and parole departments all working together to keep track of ns gang members to keep an extra eye out on those who re offend I believe would be a good source of team work through law enforcement. What I do believe and statics have shown that the more positive options for kids, teen and adults such as intervention, academic achievement has pproven to show the decrease in disruptive behavior which would usually end up in arrest or the need to fit in with the wrong crowds. When those who grow up in lower income areas and have hard time achieving goals that others may be able to do easier due to finical situations, we see crime and higher volumes of gangs. Money is powerful, it can determine what outcomes some may have when in need of something as simple as a shampoo. The more help these communities receive , with positivity the more lives we can change and hope we can give to those who need the extra support to become something they'd always dreamed of.
