The article expounds about the procedure which one follows when reporting the cases of juvenile sex offenders. In addition, it explains what leads one to commit the crime and thus making it possible to predict when one is going to commit the crime. After predicting when one is going to commit the crime, it makes it possible to stop him or her. The book also gives other ways which can be used to discourage individuals from committing the crime. The ways suggested include guiding them after realizing that they might commit the crime in future.

Calleja, N. G. (2015). Juvenile sex and non-sex offenders: A comparison of recidivism and risk. Journal of Addictions & Offender Counseling. Apr 2015, Vol. 36, Issue 1, p2-12. 11p. DOI: 10.1002/j.2161-1874.2015.00031.

The book is about the juvenile sex offenders whereby it explains that there are offenders who are addicted to sexually offend young people. The book further explains that these offenders can be assisted to stop the habit by counseling them. It will be easy to counsel them when what compels them to commit the crime is known, like when they are addicted they are counseled accordingly thus helping them to stop the habit. They are counseled and guided on how they will overcome the urge and temptations to commit the crime.

Campregher, J. &Jeglic, E. L. (2016). Attitudes toward juvenile sex offender legislation: The influence of case-specific information. Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, May-Jun 2016; 25(4): 466-482. 17p.

Julia Compregher graduated recently from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a master’s degree. Currently, she is employed at the Institute of Forensic Psychology. Her research is about the development of the social support intervention for the recently released sex offenders and how the public perceives those individuals who are perceived as the juvenile sex offenders. The book explains how people feel when the laws which are used on the adult sex offenders are used on the juvenile sex offenders. A research was conducted whereby it was meant to find out the attitude of the individuals in regard to the use of the laws for adult sexual offenders in juvenile offenders and it was found out that the juvenile sex offenders might grow to become super in the offenses thus the need to have punitive measures to stop them. The book further argues that by guiding the young offenders they might change and stop committing the crime thus it is not necessary for punitive measures to be used as a way of making them to stop the habit.

Clarkson, E. (2012). The internal world of the juvenile sex offender: through a glass darkly and then face to face. Sexual & Relationship Therapy, May 2012; 27(2): 180-182. 3p.

She is serving as a trained and certified acupuncturist. She is also a medical practitioner who is licensed and thus can serve the patients. The book is about the juvenile offenders whereby it explains that they are considered to be individuals who have a psychic impairment. They should be treated therefore as individuals who are having impairment and thus the need to help them to stop the habit of offending others sexually. But no all the sexual offenders more so among the teenagers have psychic impairment since there are those who are influenced by their friends. Those who commit as a result of the influence from the friends should be counseled and guided hence helping them to stop the habit.

Gillis, H. L. & Gass, M. A. (2010). Treating juveniles in a sex offender program using adventure-based programming: a matched group design. Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, Jan/Feb 2010; 19(1): 20-34. 15p.

Gillis, H.L. is a licensed psychologist who offers counseling guidance. She is a professor and a chairperson of the psychological science at the Georga College. In her work, she expounds on how the juvenile sex offenders can be treated using various ways since the aim is to help them to stop the habit thus coming up with the various ways in which they can be handled. The book explains how the juvenile sex offenders can be treated using various programs. But the one which has been emphasized in the book is the adventure-based programming which entails taking of the culprits and encouraged to try something else which will help them to stop offending others sexually. The author considers ways in which the offenders can be assisted to stop the habit thus coming up with the various options which can be used so as to help them. When the sexual offenders are busy always, they will stop the habit since they will not have time to engage in the crime.

Hanser, R. D. & Mire, S. M. (2008). Juvenile sex offenders in the United States and Australia: A comparison. International Review of Law, Computers & Technology. Mar-Jul 2008, Vol. 22, Issue 1/2, p101-114. 14p. DOI: 10.1080/13600860801924980.

Hanser, R. D. is a coordinator of the department of criminal justice and also the director of the Institute of law enforcement at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He is serving as the Governor-appointed members of the Louisiana reentry strategies which lead to the improvement of the reentry strategies within Louisiana. He has written a lot of publications which are about corrections, correctional treatment among other things related to the field of criminal justice. In this book, the author gives the comparison about the sex offenders in the United States and Australia. His point is that even though there might be the difference in the number of sex offenders from one place to the other, they exist almost everywhere and thus the way in which they are handled might vary from place to place. But there is the need to ensure that they are corrected so that they can lead a normal life again.

Klein, S. (2017). The new unconstitutionality of juvenile sex offenders registration: Suspending the presumption of constitutionality for laws that burden juvenile offenders. Michigan Law Review. Jun 2017, Vol. 115, Issue 8, p1365-1391. 27p.

Spencer Klein is a partner of the corporate Department who is serving as the co-chair of the firm’s global mergers and acquisition group and also in the head of the corporate department in New York. His focus is on the proxy contests and the takeover defense counseling. The book highlights the move taken to register the juvenile sex offenders in a way that it is unconstitutional since this move will stop the use of the law which seems to be burdening the juveniles. After the registration, it is noted that they will be assisted to stop the habit instead of punishing them which seems to be burdening them. This move generally, aims at ensuring that all the juvenile sex offenders are registered and then they are assisted to stop the habit. This will help them to change their behaviors without punishing them since they are still young and thus they can change their behaviors easily.

Letourneau, E. J.; Harris, A. J.; Shields, R. T.; Walfield, S. M.; et al., (2018). Effects of juvenile sex offender registration on adolescent well-being: An empirical examination. Psychology, Public Policy, and Law, Vol 24(1), Feb 2018, pp. 105-117.

Letourneau is a professor who is serving in the Departmental of Affiliations. She did her BA at the state of university New York in 1988. She did her master’s degree at Northern Illinois University. And her Ph.D. is from the Northern Illinois University. She has done a lot of research on the sexual offense victimization and also on the sex offender public policy effects. I the book, the effects of the sex offender registration on the teenagers are highlighted whereby the author argues that after registration, the individuals who have been registered will be known by the public members that he is a sex offender thus fitting into the society will be difficult for them since members of the public will regard to him as the sex offender. The author further argues that instead of registering them, they should be counseled and guided so that they can stop the habit.

Morgan, L. W.; McClendon, L. S.; & McCarty, J. (2016). Supporting every child: school counselors' perceptions of juvenile sex offenders in schools. Journal of School Counseling, Vol 14, n 1.

Morgan is an assistant professor in the department of political science in the school of law. She did her degree course at the University of New Mexico and her degree in law was at the University of Texas at Austin. She proceeded for her master’s and Ph.D. at Washington University in St. Louis. The book advocates for the support which the juvenile sex offenders should be given. The author argues that instead of punishing them, they should be assisted so that they can stop the habit. Since these sex offenders are still it means that they can be assisted to change their behaviors and it is possible. So, the society should not be fast about punishing them but instead, they should be willing to help them. Though punishment will make them change and stop committing the crime, punishment should not always be considered but other ways lik counseling should be applied since it is also effective.

Sahlstrom K. J. &Jeglic E. L. (2008). Factors affecting attitudes toward juvenile sex offenders. Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, 2008; 17(2): 180-196. 17p.

Sahlstrom did her degree course at the Hamline University in Saint Paul. She was later employed to work at the 3M Corp before deciding to move to the ARCO. She also attended the University of Alaska where she earned a bachelor of science in mathematics and psychology. She was later employed by Mat-Su Behavioral Health where her skills were a great asset to the other employees. The book explains the factors which affect the attitudes towards the juvenile sex offenders. Among the factors which were highlighted is that the teachings of the society will determine how they will react to the sex offenders. She further argues that for the members of the society to realize that sex offenders need to be assisted, the members of the society should be taught to realize the necessity of helping them to stop the behavior. This can be achieved by using the elder people in the society to guide others on how they should handle sexual offenders.

Shi, L. &Nicol, J. (2007). Into the mind of a juvenile sex offender: a clinical analysis and recommendation from an attachment perspective. American Journal of Family Therapy, Oct 2007; 35(5): 395-402. 8p.

Shi is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the elbow and shoulder injuries. He focuses much on the molecular basis of the rotator and biomechanics of shoulder arthritis. He studied medicine at Harvard medical school. The book highlights the factors which contribute to the sex offenders to commit the crime. From the clinical analysis, the factors which affect the individuals are highlighted. And since the factors can be identified, it makes it easy to handle the situation thus helping them to desist from offending others sexually. This is possible because after identifying the factors which make them to commit the crime, each factor will have a way in which the individual can be stopped from committing the crime. This means that it is possible to stop sexual offenders from committing the crime without punishing them. The book encourages members of society to identify the factors and ways in which the sexual offenders can be stopped based on the factors which make them to commit the crime.

Stevenson, M. C.; Najdowski, C. J.& Wiley, T. R. A. Knowledge of juvenile sex offender registration laws predicts adolescent sexual behavior. Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, Jan/Feb 2013; 22(1): 103-118. 16p.

Stevenson was educated at the University of Edinburgh. When she was employed, she worked as a lecturer, research strategist, and a broadcaster. She would subsequently go to the school of slovanic to study and to the East European studies at the University College London. She became the first student to gain a Ph.D. in 1925 and after she gained a position to be a lecturer in the department of commerce of Liverpool University. The book explains the importance of sex offender registration whereby it makes it possible to predict when a child is likely to be a sex offender. After the prediction, the behavior can be prevented by guiding the child before he commits the crime. The author further explains why it is necessary to follow up on the registration since it is an easy way to ensure that the cases of the sex offense can be prevented since the sex offenders have been identified.

Venable, V. M.& Guada, J. (2014). Culturally competent practice with African American juvenile sex offenders. Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, 2014; 23(3): 229-246. 18p.

Guada is an individual who deals with the contextual level factors which are associated with the continuity and care for the adults who are suffering from h schizophrenia. He serves also on the issues of the mental health. Regarding the mental issues, he considers that the sex offenders have mental problems and thus they need to be assisted. The author of the book argues that from the research which has been conducted, it is clear that there are more sex offenders among the African American citizens. This are attributed to the problems which they face which affects then mentally. The problems faced include discrimination. They need to be assisted so that they can overcome their problems and thus hey will stop from committing the sexual offense. The argument of the author is that for young people to commit sexual offense crimes, they are greatly influenced by what is happening around them thus the need to ensure that children are growing in places where cases of sexual offenses are minimum if they are there.

Woods, J. (2014). Review of the internal world of the juvenile sex offender. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Vol 28(1), Jan 2014, pp. 86-88.

Woods is a writer who is based in Toronto. She is a mother and non-conformist. Regarding her education, she has studied many things which include radio broadcasting and entrepreneurship. She likes writing her thoughts because she finds it easy. The author of the book argues that before making the judgment on sexual offenders, it is important to review the internal world of these offenders. By reviewing the internal world, it means that one should try to find out what made the person to commit the crime. The reasons which should be found out are the personal issues. She further says that after identifying the factors, it will be easy to handle the situation and thus assisting the juvenile offender. Making judgments before establishing what made the child to commit the crime will not help the child to change since the cause has not been resolved. So, to ensure that the habit stops completely, one should find out what led to that child to commit the crime.

Zankman S. & Bonomo J. (2005). Working with parents to reduce juvenile sex offender recidivism. Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, 2005; 13(3/4): 139-156. 18

Zankman is a chairperson of the pediatrics and also the clinical assistant professor and the Midwestern University. He is currently pursuing his education at the Midwestern University. The author of the book argues that there is the need for the parents to work with the other members of the society so that they can overcome the fight against child sexual abuse. This is possible when parents are aware of the signs portrayed by the child before committing the crime thus being able to prevent the crime from being committed. This is the only way which makes it possible for the members of the society to contribute towards the fight against the behavior. The author argues that when all members of the society comes together to fight the cases of sexual offenses by guiding children and discouraging them from committing the crime, then it will be possible to end the habit amongst the children.
