Project description

Telecommunication industries play a vital role in terms of offering electronics that help people access and transmit information. It is because the world we live in is full of uncertainties in communication, and by telecommunication industries filling these gaps, they allow us to interact globally and save our memories and documents freely and effectively. Therefore, Apple Inc. has taken the challenge to sustain the dynamic world by providing high-quality electronic products and unique services such as iCloud, iMessage, and so on. (Simko 2018). However, it has and is undergoing some changes to ensure that it aligns with the basic needs of the market to offer more competent products and services, thus remaining competitive. By having this in mind, my capstone paper will focus on leadership action in Apple Inc., to solve the issue about iCloud services. This change will ensure operations in the company align with the modern ways of doing things. Comment by Court Booth: Will you define what this issue is? The Specific Issue

Like all other businesses, Apple faces multiples problems in the market because innovation and creation come with an error. Therefore, for my project, the specific issue which I have identified to fix is about iCloud services in Apple products. This service is one of the most recent technologies and occurs as internet-based cloud storage and cloud computing service (Agal and Maheshwari 2017). Being a new service it has been a challenge to Apple users. At first, the company relied on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft to offer functional cloud services (Jackson 2013). Lately, this service is posing a challenge, such as some files failing to finish syncing to computers or documents failing to download when needed. This issue has worsened by the idea of Apple offering to move the Desktop and document to iCloud (Moren 2017). Therefore, to fix it, my central strategy will focus on finding talented staff inside the company to continue growing and developing iCloud. This will be through the transformational approach, where I will encourage these employees to think beyond imagination and find ways to fix the issue. Comment by Court Booth: What issue? It is not necessary to imagine that YOU are the engineers who will change products for Apple.

The three references utilized in defnign my specific issue helped me develop my proposal by offering real-time data about issues faced in the telecommunication sector, especially in Apple. They gave me the insight to come up with the idea about iCloud services. For example, Moren (2017), in his article, helped me identify the issue for the study as he says the iCloud services seem to have lost its original meaning.

Option selected

The option selected in this assignment is Leadership in consultant case. Leadership is based on an individual’s abilities to influence, motivate, encourage, and see the follower’s point of view, make the best decisions, and consider the best interest of all stakeholders for the great good of all. While leaders grow, they get the transformation that built their abilities to become charismatic and transformational (Van Knippenberg & Sitkin, 2013). Also, they develop to become great communicators who develop a relationship by being trustworthy, open, transparent, and base their decisions on development and ethical choices.

Relevance

This proposal will meet the MSL Capstone Project requirements because it will be conducted independently with a faculty mentor who I will choose to assess my work. I will also complete it at the end of the course because it relates to my curriculum field area of concentration. Additionally, after I have finalized and I will have to attach it to the MSL Director to check whether I have met its requirements.

Project impact

Apple Inc. is a mutual automobile organization in America and other parts of the world. It was founded in 1976, and still, it remains to be among the most selling multinational technology company. This organization is located in over 500 points. It designs, develops, and sells electronics online services, and computer software. It is considered to be one of the Four Big Technology companies alongside Microsoft, Google, and Amazon (Dolata 2017). Therefore, I want this paper to benefit Apple Inc. and its customers. The proposed idea will improve the problem faced in iCloud services by fixing syncing and storing of photos, files, and other documents.

The leadership strategy that I want to use and practice in this assignment include transformational leadership theory and behavioral theory. With transformational leadership theory, it will be easier for the managers to influence and encourage employees to think beyond imagination and find ways to fix innovation issues such as the iCloud services (Van Knippenberg & Sitkin, 2013). Together with the behavioral model, leaders will be able to tame the behavior of employees in such a way that they raise the level of morality and motivation.

During this project, I hope to interact with different customers who use Apple products. They will help me get firsthand information about the experience with iCloud services. I also hope to interact with the Apple Inc. innovators and analysts who will give me challenges and critical feedback about the management of these services.

The biggest challenges which I anticipate to face at this time include insufficient information, miscommunication that causes conflicts, unrealistic deadlines, poor definition of goals and objectives. To gather the information, I will utilize preliminarily research for effective fact-finding. I will also use the company reports and other online materials to collect information.

If the project becomes successful, it will benefit me in my career goals by making me competent to solve challenging issues as a leader. Besides, it will also make me develop practical skills in my careers, such as teamwork, research skills, and self-sufficiency. Finally, I am interested in this topic because my future dream is to work in technology companies. It is essential because it will be building my knowledge and skills in managing innovations.
