Multicore technology describes the function of two or more cores or CPUs working together on the same chip in which the core logic processor resides in a physical processor. These are placed in a single integrated circuit in a side-by-side place but no change in mounting the chip. The whole process’s main goal is to improve the performance and efficiency of devices. The advantage of using multiple cores is less power and heat utilization. The problem solutions and algorithms used for implementation depending on the performance of multi-processor cores. The architecture of multi-core depends on manufacturers in terms of memory configurations, cache memory, and the number of cores. But the common point for any manufacturer is integral parts which remain the same for all the multi-core processors (Imtiaz, 2009). Intel is implementing a new standard for the multicore approach that will help to manage the challenges faced by the multi-core processor and helps it to make the programming/configuration simple. The advantage of multi-core chips is that they can help to perform more work per cycle and also they are designed to work with single counterparts at lower frequencies and run smoothly (Gepner, 2006).

The Random access memory (RAM) is used in all kinds of devices for storage and to access data, which helps to improve the performance of the device. Some of the different types of RAM are first, Static RAM (SRAM) was developed in the year 1964, SRAM runs with the power and data stored will be static at all the time. It is considered as volatile memory and the disadvantage is that when the power is off the data will be lost, expensive and low space. The advantages of SRAM are it is quick and consumes low power. SRAM is used in Harddrives, Digital cameras, and printers. Second, Dynamic RAM (DRAM) was developed in the year 1967, it runs with the source of power and no energy will cause lost data. It is considered a non-volatile memory and the advantages are more space and less expensive. Disadvantages are slow to access and consume more power (Stanley, 2021). Cache memory plays an important role in all devices, the memory(SRAM) which is placed close to the CPU is known as cache memory. It is small in size but has a huge impact on overall performance. Cache memory helps to store the data and increase the read performance in the CPU for future activities. There are two types of cache memory first, primary cache and secondary cache. There are 3 levels of cache memory and cache mapping also helps to read quickly. There are different cache mapping methods like direct mapping, associative mapping, and set-associate mapping (Paul, 2020).

Our company has a global mission critical center to support mission-critical situations, which includes regional centers for different areas. The mission critical center consists of a solution adoption support team, strategic customer and product initiatives team, critical customer management team, business down and outage management team, global escalation management team and critical incident management team. The goal of the mission critical center is to ensure that the customer’s business or the company’s business comes back to normal operation as soon as possible and as cost efficient as possible for the company. For instance, the business down and outage management team resolves business down situations when a customer’s business services are significantly impacted and need urgent treatment. The mission control center also collaborates with other teams such as engineering, product management teams in order to resolve critical issues.

The DR plan describes the step-by-step emergency procedures in the event of a crisis or disaster, and also the possible available modes of communication for different roles during unavailability of facilities. If required, the communication channels which should be used during a disaster are such as STD/ISD calls from nearest PCO/cell phone, internet e-mail facility from the nearest commercial Internet service kiosk. If it is Network Failure, the service lead should inform managers to use the available modes of communication or in person and follow up with the communication link service provider or customer network support team for quick resolution. For each type of outage or failure, the DR plan describes detailed execution procedures for related teams on how to prepare, how to respond and also the recovery, including the available modes of communication channels under different disaster scenarios. With periodically IT disaster DR drills being conducted, the company ensures the execution of DR plan and submits detailed DR drill report to the core team.
