a. In the first paragraph, summarize the author’s main points, making sure to capture the thrust of the author’s argument.

b. In the second paragraph, share your own response to the text. Your response (paragraph two) should also include specific references to the text. Exemplary reading reflections often include information about the writer’s field or professional experiences and how these experiences shape the writer’s response to an author’s claims. Judicious reference to one’s lived experience can also be used to strengthen written reflections.
