Requirements:

2. Letter to Parents: This activity will involve two steps.

o Step 1 entails writing a letter to a parent explaining their child’s test performance

o Step 2 entails providing feedback on the letters to your group members.

Each step is detailed below:

Step 1 – Writing letter to parent:

Closely examine the test report detailed in the Test Report file which is (attached).

** Assume that you are Elizabeth’s teacher and it is your responsibility to write a letter to her parents explaining her test performance. Let the following suggestions guide your letter:

• Elizabeth’s parents will receive a copy of this test report. • Her parents are not testing experts and will basically want to know how their

daughter performed. • Interpret the information about Elizabeth’s performance, focusing on her strengths

and weaknesses.

While there is a fine line between giving too little and too much information, the main purpose in having your write this letter was to show me that you can accurately interpret the details of the report and to show me that you can explain terms (e.g., norm referenced) discussed in our readings in simple ways that someone with no knowledge of large scale testing terminology could understand. As teachers you will have to do both these things.

Step 2 – Provide feedback to each of your group members

Using what you have learned from the readings, provide constructive feedback on the letters written by your group members.

Due in 12 hours.

Length: One full page, double spaced
