Journal Entry 3

In our last class meeting we discussed the risk of playing contact sports and the link to CTE. Dr. Omalu, who discovered CTE suggests that parents who allow their children to play contact sports is equivalent to parents allowing their children to participate in sex, drugs and alcohol. Reviewing the articles and videos I shared (or finding a video or article on your own regarding the same topic), provide a one and half or two-page personal opinion as to whether or not your support Dr. Omalu’s position that we must educate our children on the risks of playing contact sports and that when they become adults and have been fully educated on the risks, that then they should be allowed to make the decision on their own as to whether or not they want to take the risk of playing contact sports.
