Examine how your coursework in the M.Ed. program and your work experience have helped you to grow in the areas of design and analysis and how you have used or will use these competencies in your current and / or future position.

In a one- to two-page paper, reflect on how you have grown in your ability to design instruction to align with a particular organizational structure.

I feel that I have grown by doing research for my students that have a learning disability by incorporating ways for them to learn. I would invite the parents/caregivers to my class to actively participate in their child’s learning. I would also send home extra materials for the parent/caregivers to help reinforce the lesson to help their child retain the information that was learned for that day. We all know that repetition is the key to learning. I also have found myself signing up for more training classes to help me learn how to help my students with their learning disabilities. I have put in case service requests in on behalf of my students and their parents/caregivers for therapists to come into my classroom to work with my students. By utilizing therapists this too can help the students to learn by providing more one on one help. I find that is very helpful because it also allows the therapist to learn the child’s learning techniques and the therapist can also tell the educator and teach the educator what works for the student. The educator can also relay the message to the parent/caregiver to help their child at home as well. One big advantage that I love about this way is that the student becomes the teacher. This is fun for the student because the student does all the teaching. Changing roles can be beneficial for some students and that makes the learning/teaching that much more fun for everyone.
