PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

Here is a short list of advice in your quest for success with your article reviews. All general information found here on writing technique also applies to your discussion board posts and integration of faith and learning assignment.

1. Include either the entire article title in your title on a separate title page, or have an immediate article caption (author, date, title, publisher, volume and issue, pages) at the top of the first page. This can be a simple paste of the article’s references listing copied from your references section.

2. Limit your direct quotes to a reasonable number, certainly not every two or three sentences. Avoid long quotes in the managerial implications section, as this section is for your advice.

3. Properly indent all quotes that are 40 or more words in accordance with APA guidelines. Do not use quote marks or italics with indented quotes, and use either quote marks or italics with quotes under forty words, but not both.

4. The following headings are required for the article reviews: authors purpose, application to supply chain management, background of the issue, managerial implications, and summary (do not say conclusion).

5. Have a titled managerial implications section. Begin sentences with "managers should", or "advice to managers would be" throughout this section. This is your direct advice to other managers, so quotes should be minimal.

6. Use et al only when citing three or more authors. Three authors—write out all three names the first time and use et al with the lead author in cites thereafter. Four or more authors—use et al with the lead author in all cites, including the first one.

7. Cite the article being reviewed early (at least once in your first paragraph). Continue citing it throughout the review. Provide a citation

8. Paginate your document (have page numbers) so instructor comments can be quickly referenced.

9. Have a separate title page with your name, course name, and instructor name.

10. Keep the Safe Assign matching percentage below 40% by adding additional original content. If you find you are unable to do this, notify the instructor in advance or place a note to that effect on the title page.

11. Be consistent with heading formatting—either use caps and centering with all headings or with none of them.

12. There is a version of the course textbook that does not identify the author. If your version does not list an author, you may say “Liberty University, 2018”. If it does identify the author, then it should say “Young, 2018” (or whichever year is provided in the your book). .

13. Do not use bullet lists--write in conversational paragraph format.

14. Use small letters (a, b, c, etc.) as opposed to numbers (1, 2, 3) for in-text lists. This is in accordance with APA guidelines.

15. Do not end with a quote. Have a personal ending.

16.  Use sub-headings as appropriate, avoid long paragraphs, and write in conversational style. Avoid lists of any type. Select an article of interest to you, as opposed to other considerations such as length. We all take different things away from such assignments, so view this as an opportunity to expand your knowledge.
