Module Two/ 1 st Journal
The self-assessment exercises gave me a golden opportunity to determine various issues about managing personal stresses. I have also been able to understand various tips on time management as well as developing resiliency. However, looking at the contents of various self-assessment exercises done, I found out that most of the factors that are part of my stressors are based on personal life and not largely tied to external elements. The key lesson however is that managing personal stress is extremely important in navigating daily challenges.
Goals taking the personal organizational skills course
By the end of the semester I aim at emanating at least five stressors in my social life by ensuring that I fully understand stress management.
By the last week of class, I aim at ensuring that I understand how to become resilient through different challenges that I face as a student as well as I go into the future.
I aim at improving my time management skills and ability to ensure the end of the course I am able to work on my responsibility without procrastination.
I aim at being able to manage both internal and external stressors without further causing reactive incidences to situations and hurting myself emotionally. I believe this is key for my mental health.
Instances of monitoring my emotions
When involved in a conflict, I will endeavour to take a diplomatic approach where I take on analytical problem solving to avoid causing violence or further troubles.
In situations involving my personal health, I endeavour to ensure that I come up with proper way of self-care to avoid getting drained by school or work and becoming emotional.
Instances of monitoring others emotions
When a friend has lost someone, they value keeping company and talking to them through this tough situation is a good way of eliminating chances of them going into depression.
When a fellow student has become victim of police brutality or domestic violence, linking them for counselling or legal action process is a good way of ensuring that they feel better and get justice. Leaving them to continue stressing themselves is a bad way of managing the entire situation.
