Part 1: Preliminary Portion
Before completing the written portion of the journal assignment, you must complete the dice roll. During the dice roll, you will identify specific characteristics of your “person”.
Instructions:
Roll one die one time for each set of characteristics listed below. Your “person” will have the characteristics for the corresponding numbers listed.
Characteristics:
1. Determine the current marital status of your person.
a. 1, 3 = Married
b. 2 = Actively dating but never married
c. 4 = Divorced and remarried
d. 5 = Divorced, not remarried, not dating
e. 6 = Widowed, actively dating
2. Has your person had any children?
a. 1 = YES, 1 child
b. 2, 4 = YES, 2 children
c. 3 = YES, 3 children
d. 5 = YES, 4 children
e. 6 = NO
3. If your person is currently married (for either the first or second time), roll to determine if his/her spouse brought any stepchildren into the marriage:
a. 1, 3, 4, 6 = NO
b. 2, 5 = YES
4. Has your person continued to remain employed, working at the same job that you assigned to them in Journal 4?
a. Option 1: If your person did graduate from high school
i. 1, 3, 4, 6 = YES
ii. 2 = NO, THEY HAVE A NEW JOB
iii. 5 = NO, THEY ARE CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED
b. Option 2: If your person did not graduate from high school
i. 1 = YES
ii. 2 = NO, THEY HAVE A NEW JOB
iii. 3 = NO, THEY HAVE A CONSISTENT JOB BUT WORK AT VARIOUS TEMPORARY JOBS
iv. 4 or 5 = NO, THEY ARE CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED
v. 6 = YES, AND THEY ALSO HAVE A SECOND JOB
