Introduction
The aim of the research will be to investigate the negative effects of social media in sport. Like in many other organizations, social media is inevitable in sports. Sport organizations are making use of social media to communicate not only within the organizations but also with fans.
Problem statement
The ease of communication via social media platforms does not only accord sport organizations with benefits but there are potential harmful aspects of social media in sports. The study will therefore focus on the potential harm that social has had in sports with special reference to the fast rate with which information is passed via social media.
Justification of study
Many researchers have focused on the role that social media has played in communication within sport organizations. No research has been conducted to investigate the harm that social media has caused to the sports organization
Method
Qualitative and quantitative research methods will be used. Primarily, in depth interview with coaches and players of ten national football teams will be conducted. Interviews will be used for data collection. The data collected will be analyzed to group the effects in major categories. Interpretation of the data analysis will be guide the discussion and results which will be presented in descriptive and tabular methods. Sampling method will be by simple random technique and recruitment based on willing ness to participate in the interview and availability.
