Job Posting - Community Relations Intern
The Oklahoma City Thunder is currently seeking an individual to fill our Community Relations internship opening for the fall semester. This exciting internship program is designed to develop valuable skills and gain firsthand experience in the professional sports industry. This position will serve as support and administer for the development and execution of the day-to-day Community Relations activities, such as charitable donations; development of relationships with the community, partners and beneficiaries; and planning and execution of events and other activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinating and fulfilling community requests including donation requests and appearance requests
· Database management of donations and item inventory
· Assisting with Community Relations special events and fundraisers
· Assisting with Thunder Fit Clinics at schools on an as-needed basis
· Assisting with Reading Time Outs and Rolling Thunder Book Bus visits at schools on an as-needed basis
· Assisting with Thunder Reading Challenge mailings and database upkeep
· Assisting in game night activities including auctions/raffles, managing the Tickets for Kids table and helping with special player appearance opportunities in the arena
· Working onsite with the Thunder Events Center manager to assist with needs related to that facility
· Maintain good attendance and punctuality
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Presently enrolled in an accredited college or university
· Eligible to receive course credit for the internship
· Must be at least in Junior Year status
· Candidates should be computer proficient, detail oriented, and enthusiastic about working within a sport-related field
· Background within a sports marketing, community service or communications depart is encouraged
