Dear Colleague:
Everything as its advantage and challenges on the other side, so getting a new job is an advantage, but it comes with its challenges. Many are times when a benefit to someone can be the start of a challenge or disadvantage to another person. That is because the end of one thing marks the start of another and vice vasa; thus, the end of the period of an employee in a certain office marks start for another employee to replace the outgoing. Different jobs have different challenges, but a new job will always have more challenges for a new employee. That is because of a lack of familiarization with job, environment, boss, and even fellow workers. But with time, new employees can cope with challenges as he or she mitigates them. But the best way to avoid mistakes and time wastage in an organization or a company, the outgoing employee or the experienced one can give guidelines to the new employee (Goossens, 2018).
One of the major problem or challenge, which am sure will be very challenging to you as a new employee who shall replace me is the load of work in that office. That is because also I replaced someone just as you are going to replace me, but that was my main challenge in that office. I also have experience and enough observation from other departments, which is evident that the load of work is the major problem. That situation can be either of the sides; you may find little work or a lot of work for the first time. But I need you to respond to challenge and avoid reacting to the challenge for you to mitigate it as first as possible and have success in your job.
I have various guidelines as your senior, which I would like to give you so that you can mitigate the challenge of the load of work. To manage that challenge, you need to know how to manage your time properly. Every job which shall be allocated to you at any given time will have a time limit. Then you need to have a schedule, and on your own, which shall guide you. Then you need to give each task its time limit apart from the one given to you because an emergence work can occur any time. Then you need to first focus on the most important things and avoid using must time on less important things. I home through that with the addition of your knowledge, which you have on time management; you will be able to combat the challenge to a certain percentage (Sushil, Connell, & Burgess, 2016).
The next step which shall help you deal with that challenge is though making sure you get along with both managers and the workmates in the organization. You can do that by going for brakes and lunch with them then trying to socialize with them. You will need to observe and study their characters so that you may avoid annoying any of them. You will need to get every small detail which one gives since they are new to you so that you may avoid confusion and embarrassment. Through getting along with your fellow workers and managers, you will now be able to ask them different questions about the organization and the job in areas where you do not grasp. If you get along very well with your colleagues, they will be able to help you with your job, thus mitigating the challenge of the load of work in your new office. That is because when you make them your friends, you will be free to ask any question concerning your job, unlike when you are not friends.
The next step which I would like you to follow is trying your level best to fit in the organization fully without fear. That will help you to be focused on your duty and do it without any doubt and mistakes, thus overcoming the load of work challenge. For you to fit in the office and the entire organization, you will need to be open-minded, and both read to be helped and ready to work. You shall see new faces, but you need to have a positive attitude towards the people around you and the job. You need to make friends with the people around you and be open to asking any questions in areas where you do not grasp. Fitting in will make the people around you feel free to help you in areas where you are not familiar with thus mitigating the load of work in the organization.
The next guideline which will help you to mitigate the load or work is through dealing with the overlord of information. You shall face new terms and new techniques which you have not come across before. So you need to have a notebook to note them down every time you came across them. You will need to note what you have grasped and what you have not understood. Them you will also need to ask as many questions as possible to fathom the terms. In terms of the techniques will need to observe first, then ask where you do not fathom. Asking of various questions will clear the doubts in your mind, thus gaining a lot of confidence. That will help you to understand every new word or term and technique, thus helping you to do your work in an easy way hence solving the challenge of a load of work (Giorgi, Mucci, Fabio & Ariza-Montes, 2020).
The next strategy which you can use to overcome that challenge is through being creative, innovative, and has speed in everything you do. That is because the not very job you will be needed to do you will have learned about or observed anywhere. You should know that organizational success depends on the employee's knowledge and skills. So you as one of the employees, you should be creative and innovative enough to deal with complicated issues that may come across you without depending on anyone else. That will help you to make the right decisions for the organization even though you are a new employee. Creativity will also help you avoid time wastage in consultation at every time. Then you need to develop a skill of speed so that you can finish your job at the right time and avoid delays. The creativity and high speed will help you to mitigate the challenge easily.
Then finally, you need to have patience and be able to calm down even when you are under pressure. That is because the load of work can give you a lot of pressure, especially when the work is a lot and is needed ASAP. But with patience and being able to calm down, you will do your job without mistakes and with confidence and finish within the given time, thus overcoming the pressure of load of work. Then with the above knowledge in your mind, I hope you will be able to mitigate the challenge easily and cope with the job within the shortest time possible (Noronha & D'Cruz, 2017).
