HEA 530: Job Description: Student Intern Supervisor
Reporting to the administrative assistant, the student intern supervisor is a recent graduate of the College (two years or less), responsible for training and supervising the pool of 10 student interns. The person who assumes this position must have three years of previous experience as an intern in the Alumni Affairs Office.
Description of Duties:
· Conducts a one-week orientation/training program for interns that gives an overview of the functions of the Office of Alumni Affairs and introduces the responsibilities of staff members; as a recent graduate of the College, he or she can offer a timely look at programs, functions, and giving incentives
· Prepares job assignments and work schedules based on the Intern Survey, which assists the decision-making process through informing on the interns’ schedule and job assignment preferences; every effort should be made to match interns with preferences, and these will change three times during the semester so that interns get a balanced experience in the Office of Alumni Affairs
· Handles correspondence related to interns, writes reports, and prepares material for staff meetings
· Supervises interns as they perform a variety of clerical duties delegated by the Administrative Assistant, including preparing bulk mailings
· Supervises and schedules activities of interns to support campus events for alumni
· Maintains department confidentiality of sensitive data, information, activities, and decisions; adheres to all safety and housekeeping policies and procedures
