BASIC:​ Purchase the highest quality of merchandise at the lowest price possible based on extensive market research or past knowledge/past purchases with the construction field. To prepare reports, participate in meetings and presentations as may be required from time to time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Issue purchase orders/work orders for Plants, Trucking, Equipment, and some field operations as deemed necessary

2. Tracking meters for projects and ensuring meters are read in timely fashion.

3. Helping all departments ordering parts and following orders until delivery.

4. Preventative Maintenance-Ordering filters and bundling prior to maintenance performed on trucks and equipment.

5. Research and evaluate suppliers pricing based on quality, selection, services, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities.

6. Analyze past prices to determine purchasing trends, etc.…

7. Maintain XYZ inventory on particular account as deemed necessary with potential to increase to keep up with demand

8. Negotiate existing contracts with suppliers and vendors.

9. Track/monitor shipments to ensure goods are on time and handle issues that arise in shipping processes.

10. Meet with vendors/suppliers to maintain good working relationships to ensure adequate pricing/services are being received.

11. Dispatches parts runners for equipment, trucking, plant, office, and field needs based on demand.

12. Ordering shop supplies based on needs for equipment, trucking, and plants. Ensuring orders are filled as needed.

13. Verifying orders delivered at shop prior to signing.

14. Paperwork handling liaison between shop and office.

15. Handle and track warranty claims

16. Update and correct workorders (tablet) handled by mechanics and help with instruction when they are using issued tablets

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:​ Plant and mechanical (shop) environment,

air-conditioning in the summer, and heat in the winter, can have dusty and chemical odor conditions, shop and construction oriented environment.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Include only the minimum hiring qualifications.

Knowledge:

1. Setting up of jobs to meet internal and external customer requirements.

2. Understanding of various standard business practices, or capable of learning.

3. Understanding of and ability to read and work with reports, spreadsheets, etc.

4. Ability to complete required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports

5. Understanding of work process flow.

6. Understand of basic accounting as it relates to purchase orders

7. Understanding of how to set up and monitor purchase orders and cost associated 8. High School or equivalent, some college preferred.

Experience:

1. Minimum three (3) years purchasing experience.

2. Three to five (3 - 5) years in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.

3. Proficient in Microsoft office and general computer skills

4. Strong written and verbal communication skills

5. Ability to defuse frustrated and angry individuals

6. Ability to “professionally” challenge others when the purchase process is not followed

7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. 8. Ability to organize and maintain job request

9. Ability to work with and handle deadlines.

10. Ability to understand work flow process and filing systems.

11. Detail oriented.
