HEA 530: Job Description: Alumni Affairs Data Manager

The Alumni Affairs data manager conducts the daily operations of data management in the Office of Alumni Affairs to improve accuracy and completeness of data in each system and provide technical assistance for staff and other college administrative units using the Alumni Affairs data systems. The Alumni Affairs data manager reports to the director and responds to requests for new data configurations.

Description of Duties:

· Identifies and analyzes complex data problems, formulates solutions, and takes appropriate action or makes sound recommendations

· Employs advanced database management skills and complex Excel formulas

· Develops and runs queries using SQL Server. Uses strong knowledge of relational database design and how to build SQL queries to pull data from multiple tables and/or databases

· Responds to requests for data from other administrative units

· Works with student interns to broaden their knowledge of data management as it applies to their duties
