Business Problem/Student Project

Business Problem:

The absence of a formalized process to track and manage HopkinsLocal candidate referrals for potential employment opportunities.

Currently, we receive referrals from many different referral sources but do not have a formal way to capture, track and respond to referral sources. Some examples of referral sources are community/faith based organizations, friends & family, government and workforce agencies, JHU President’s Office etc.

Student Project Summary:

The project will focus on designing a system to track where referrals are coming from, manage referrals and report on referral outcomes.

We also need a system that allows us to socialize the referral process to our internal and external community.

Project Objectives:

JHU would like to develop this process by utilizing technology such as email, cloud storage, electronic forms, etc. We are also open to the use of technical devices (ex. IPADs/Tablets) to collect candidates’ information. Additionally, we would like to analyze the data within the database.

JHU would also like the capability to follow up electronically with outcomes to referral sources.

JHU would like to see how the tool/process presented by the students could/would be integrated with our current applicant tracking system (ATS), SuccessFactors.
