In this week's Strayer Story you learned how Coach Gibbs developed his own leadership style by observing the styles of leaders he admires. Now, think of a great leader in your own life. This can be a coach, teacher, mentor, supervisor, family member, etc. How would you describe that person? What would you say were some of their strengths as a leader? Good morning Professor,

The person I chose to use is my best friend Veronica she is the Vice-President for BOA and she has a large team that she works with. She is the type of person that has always taken charge and can get things done. Even her family relies on her to get the tough things done that no one else can. She rewards her team when they meet a crucial deadline at the bank. However, she is a no non-sense person and takes on an authoritative role to motivate her team to work at the pace at which she needs them to. She also cares about her team members which would make her an affiliative leader as well. The one thing I know that she hates is when the bank sends down pink slips and she has to cut her team this affects her really badly because some of those team members have been there for years and she is aware of their personal circumstances. We have been friends since 3rd grade and I have always looked up to her because of her outgoing spirit. But she would say it is I whom she looks up to. We hold each other up and guide each other up to be the best that each of us could be.
