THE COMPANY ETHICAL ISSUES

INTRODUCTION

The consumer electronics industry is highly changing as various players strive to drive strategies such as presenting customers with cutting edge devices.

More so, there are more and more new entrants that are changing the manner in which traditional players are meeting the needs of the consumers through intensive research and innovative strategies.

Therefore, it is important the organization to value the need of the consumer in effort of maintain the customers and most important, attracting new consumers of the products and services of the organization by providing quality products and services.

However, ethical issues impact negatively the performance of the organization and therefore, addressing ethical issues is important for any business.

The employees are the key people contributing to the success of the organization. Therefore, the employees should reflect the moral obligation of the organization by flowing the guideline, policy and the rules to achieve the objectives and the goals of the organization. more so, it is important for the employees to acquire the essential skills required to perform duties to ensure he/she provide quality services and products to the consumers. Employees should be responsible for his/ her duties as well reflecting the sense of caring and justices when providing services to the employees. For instance, the ethical issues which have been coming up are that of companies manufacturing devices with materials which are of low quality. It means that materials of low quality are being used to make the devices. Therefore, the purchases department should supervise the type of materials before ordering and approving them for developing electronics for the company.

When employers perform certain checkups on employees, often completing regular evaluations and other job-performance checks, managers cannot keep all employees under watch at the same time. Therefore, the employees are expected to complete all the task and reflects trustworthy aspect to ensure the company find solution regarding the ethical issues affecting the company.

In the consumer electronics industry, players are competing with each other to create cutting edge devices that are more appealing to the consumers. Due to this need, majority of the manufacturers have employed various strategies such as partnering with third party manufacturers in a bid to lower operational costs hence being able to present consumers with competitively priced devices. More so, organization promotes it sales through online marketing and globalization.

partnering with third party manufacturers has led to a major ethical concern when it comes to utilization and management of labor. A good example is Apple and the manufacturing company Foxconn. After scrutiny, it was established that Foxconn had provided unsafe working conditions and also employed child labor in the production processes (Stahl, Timmermans & Flick, 2017). Addition, the issue of the quality assurance has impacted the organization as most of the component used are sourced from other manufucturers.

Good working environment plays a significant role to ensure the worker safety and health is put on the concern as well improving output. Therefore, the employees should demand better working conditions to promote their products in the organization as well as improving their safety. Employment of children should be discouraged in the organization to ensure the organization produce high-quality products by skilled individuals. Therefore, the company should cut links from the suppliers employing underage to control cost of production.

The company should be concerned with the safety of the people as well the health of the environment. Therefore, its important the employees to adopt strategies to reduce the pollution in the environment. The employees should ensure proper waste management through proper management of hazardous chemicals and materials used in processing mobile phones in the organization. Addition, the employee should reuse of the waste materials through recycling them to ensure the environment is clean. For instance, ethical dilemma when it comes to corporate social responsibility. In various regions such as China and Indonesia, the manufacturing plants established by industry players have been causing a lot of pollution and there have been calls for the companies to invest in measures that will help curb pollution through the help of the employees in proper waste management.

The employees should value customers by providing quality services and products. Typically, when the employee create a faulty product distribute the risk to the consumers and therefore, it is the responsibility of the employee to insist in quality production. This can be achieved by the employee taking full responsibility of inspecting the type of the row materials used int the assembly and reporting any faulty martials to ensures the customers get quality products.

The cases of the companies have been found to “steal” or “copy” some technological feats from a rival company. When such happens, the company that has copied from another faces litigation and may be heavily fined. Therefore, the employees should work on originality by ensuring the company has the qualified programmers and by doing so, the companies can escape the stealing other companies materials and software’s. Addition, the employees should invest in brainstorming to ensures the company produces it own software by conducting intensive and comprehensive research. The ultimate of promoting originality ensures the organization does not incur the loses of litigation as well protect the company reputation and building consumer confidence.

CONCLUSION

In the global completive market, the businesses issues ethical dilemma and are investable. However, the company should adopt a comprehensive and best strategies to ensure the business reputation is maintained and creation of customers confidence. Therefore, the call of the employees is significant in the implementation of the vital decision in any organization as are the most people interacts with the customers frequently.
