Team Efficiency and Leadership
This is an informative or summative annotation on several citations related to team efficiency and successful leadership. The search was limited to scholarly and peer-reviewed journals dealing with characteristics of successful team dynamics and those dealing with characteristics of successful team leaders. The search involved web search on scholarly approved journals that dealt with either of the two themes; team efficacies and successful leadership. The articles mainly use both qualitative and quantitative research for their findings. The articles are diverse in the nature of showing team efficacies and successful leadership. The diverse nature is to help the audience have a broader understanding of what is required to develop and sustain successful teams and their respective leaders. In primary research, the articles used are limited to those which authors have conducted original research by including a literature review, set sample, methodology, test, and discussions of the findings. There are also secondary sources that have given a definition of discipline-specific terms such as team efficiency and successful leadership.

Team reflexivity and innovation is an article where the authors study and define the benefits of efficient teams, especially reflexive teams. The authors analyze the benefits of teams reflecting and adapting their working methods towards improving team outcomes and innovation. This is a good article to form the foundation of understanding team efficiencies and later successful leadership. I found this article important because, through the use of a tested team-level contingency model, it helps in showing the characteristics of efficient teams and the dynamics that lead to that. The article was helpful because it uses credible studies to expound on the importance of team efficiencies to the team and other stakeholders.

This article focuses on the importance of not only expertise but also collaboration to a team. The article notes that team efficiencies are affected by the dynamics between the team members. This article also notes that collectively, teams have specific skill requirements to fulfill and this can only be best done through collaboration between the team members. I found this article important because it builds on the importance of having efficient teams to ways of having efficient teams. The article has good examples of efficient teams based on how well team members collaborate with each other towards reaching the team’s goals. This source was beneficial because it stresses more on the collaboration strength among team members and among leaders.

This article mainly focuses on the relationship between team size and its productivity. The article focuses on this issue focusing broadly in different areas where the success of teamwork is key, for example, in economics, management science, and psychology. The information from this article is helpful in building up from having collaborative teams. The authors note that organizations do not only need teams but the right teams which start by having the right people working with each other. The source was helpful in understanding the different team sizes required for different tasks. The article notes as teams improve on their level of collaboration, so does their size increase. This article was important in understanding the relationship between team size and level of collaboration.

This article focuses mainly focuses on ways teams flourish under pressure. The article notes on the importance of resilience in teams especially as the world becomes a more competitive stage. Information from this article is that resilience should be built from an individual level and merged with that of other members to form resilient teams. I found this article important because it involves 25 years of research to illustrate the characteristics of resilient teams. Information from this article relates with that of collaboration and size in team efficiency. The article shows ways teams can measure their level of resilience towards building and maintaining efficient teams even it times of challenges.

This article mainly focuses on an organization’s demand and supply teams and the team dynamics involved in making their collaboration a success. The article uses examples of teams trying to reach a consensus to show team efficiencies required to build productive teams. This article gives examples of efficient teams by showing examples of such teams within organizations and how they manage to maintain their efficiency. The information from this article is mainly in the principles of team effectiveness, especially in sales and operation planning of an organization. The principles of team effectiveness cover most of the details covered by the other articles, for example, collaboration and resilience. I find this article important because it uses specific examples which most organizations can relate with.

I found this article important because it focuses on different characteristics of successful team leaders from the spirit they pump in a team. Information from this article shows ways team leaders can enhance their team’s performance by having a collective promotion focus or the team’s highest potential. This article is important in linking a leader’s performance to that of the team and what team leaders can do to guide their teams to success.

This article enriches information on the role of transformational leadership on teams’ success and the findings from this article contribute to the development of the theory of the role of leadership in team success. The article can act as a guide for ways transformational leadership can be realized in teams.

I found this article important because it offers insights on both characteristics of successful team leadership and the subsequent results to a team dynamics. This article links the virtues of humility and affection with other virtues to show the characteristics of successful leadership. This article is important because it focuses on virtual teams which are becoming more common with globalization. It is important to understand the different team dynamics involved with virtual and one-on-one teams.
