This study is an extension of my previous study, examining the correlation between musical preference and empathy, as well as include the big five personality traits. Participants will complete a background inventory and three surveys through an online link through Qualtrics. We predict that participants who score high in the Reflective & complex music preference category will have higher levels of empathy than those in Intense & rebellious, upbeat & conventional, and Energetic & Rhythmic categories.

Purpose of Study: You are being asked to participate in a research study designed to gather data from a Saint Leo University student sample to analyze levels of empathy in regards to preferred music genres.

Procedures: You will be asked to complete a background inventory as well as measures of empathy, musical preference, and personality traits.

Benefits: There are no benefits for participating in this study.

Risks: None greater than those of daily life.
