Given the information from this week's reading on the Enlightenment, the New Rationalism, and the Scientific Revolution, how did advancements in science and reasoning change the lives of people at this time? In addition, what effects did the Industrial Revolution have on the world?

The Enlightenment was a social movement in early modern Europe history that influenced the philosophical, intellectual, and cultural evolution of society (Sayre, 2013). The age of enlightenment is known for the upheaval of modern civilization and is said to be exactly what London needed after The Great Fire of London in 1666. The fire wreaked havoc on the city, it was all consuming and created chaos. Causing a surge of homelessness and bankrupt businesses. Some say the tragedy was both a curse and a blessing as due to the wreckage London was able to reevaluate its structure. According to the textbook, “While the task of rebuilding London was almost overwhelming, the fire gave the city the opportunity to modernize its center in a way that no other city in the world could even imagine (Sayre, 2013). A newer sewage system was implemented, larger streets were made and houses were rebuilt from brick and stone Close to a century later the Industrial Revolution was the mark of a start of innovation and reinvention. It is believed to have been a turning point in history for sociological economics and industrial advancement. Innovations through scientific, technological, and political changes, transformed the way of life for the society, improving the economic and the living standard of people by maximizing their quality of life. The Industrial Revolution changed society from an agricultural to a service-based society, creating thousands of jobs in the factories, had lots of new inventions and because of the growth of the technology, the increase of the amount workers in the farms and factories.
