"A chief information officer (CIO) is the company executive responsible for the management, implementation, and usability of information and computer technologies (Kenton et al., 2022)."

The CIO is responsible for analyzing a plethora of technology that may benefit the company. What Fast Company is implying is that the CIO is responsible for looking into the future for potential trends and act upon them to make the company more unique in the business world. With technology maintaining a rapid pace, the role of the CIO is vital to company success helping keep the company out of the past and the days of obsolescence.

Hello Class,

The CIO or Chief Information Officer is the corporate executive in of the IT or implementation. This position has always been know as the technical job since the 1950s, enterprising the back-office structure we know and use today. However, there are many responsibilities that come along with this title:

· Leader in Business- CIO must have the education to be the pivot between being an technical leader and the company leader, understanding the set up and always prepare for failure or emergencies to occur.

· Tech Trendsetter - as the CIO it important that they have input on all technical decisions, this helps with navigating the company throughout the varies changes that happens over the decades.

· Pivoting Revolutionary Setters - The influence that the CIO holders over the company they serve is highly important, when it came down to the incidence of the pandemic it was seen that multiple companies switched to remote, which allowed for a digital infrastructure to take place.

The CIO helps make sure the company they serve has the potential to lead the change in technology and promotes why the change is a positive occurrence.

Hello Class and Professor,

A business strategy to drive organizational strategy is a clear vision of the organization. “It is important that all people within a company have clear goals and are following the direction, or mission of the  organisation. A strategy can provide this vision and prevent individuals from losing sight of their company’s aims” (Why business strategy is important?, n.d). If the business strategy isn’t the driver, people aren’t focused on the company’s vision or goals. Then the company can’t improve the way they want too if people can’t focus on those goals or visions.

For a business to become successful, there has to be a clear reason of why that business is in business. "Organizational strategies sum up all of the actions you intend to take in order to achieve your long-term business goals (Opstart, 2017)." Given an organizational strategy is all of the actions taken and Information Systems strategy from what I could understand, is some sort of software solution that helps drive the business; without the drive, said business would ultimately fail.

A business strategy is like a transmission, it actually drives the business. "No matter what kind of organisation you are, you'll have some form of business system (Fawcett, 2021)." One problem can be not feathering the clutch just right which constitutes in a stall. That is organizational and IS strategies. Not having the right tools to perform and no customers to bring business will bring the business to a stop.

Professor Gentry and Class,

An organization's ability to manage information is crucial in today's business environment. Organizations use it for business decisions at all levels, including how to meet customer needs, how to compete in the marketplace, and what an organization can do. In this day and age of smartphones, laptops, and other personal devices, technology can't be viewed as an administration overhead. A global approach enables a company to compete globally, participate in supply chain partnerships, and collaborate with other organizations.

Organizations develop their strategies based on their mission and vision. Basically, it represents what an organization stands for. A business has a forward-looking vision for its future, along with a reason for its existence. Corporate strategy determines how to accomplish the organization's objectives through action plans; without this, there is no growth in the company.
