You have the 1-888-Junk-Van case in the Coursepack, and in the case you can see the IT

options that the company has been considering. You have been retained as a consulting

service to analyze these options (and other options that you identify) and to make a

recommendation for which information technology solution would best serve the growing

business.

Kingo knows that he does not have enough information about the possible solutions and is

relying on you to provide the expertise to review these options and recommend the best

solution. He knows that his business will continue to change and grow over time, so any

solution recommended must be scalable. He also knows that what they are doing now is

NOT working efficiently and a solution is needed urgently. They cannot wait forever to

implement a solution. Speed to implement and ease of use are very important criteria in

recommending a solution.

Your recommendations report to Kingo should contain at least these six components:

1. identify and describe the potential solutions that you would consider. There are potential

solutions identified in the case, but you must add additional options to be considered, based

on your expertise. Some of you may choose to add a cloud-based solution into this set.

2. a decision matrix (weighted scoring matrix) for evaluating these options, listing criteria

and their weights, and evaluation scores for each option considered. If you need help with a

format for this matrix, please refer to the weighted scoring matrix format used for the

MDCM assignment.

Your criteria should include, at a minimum, these factors: ease of use, interoperability, cost,

need for internal IT staff, performance, speed to implement, growth/scalability. To receive a

score over 90%, your recommendations report must also consider additional criteria that you

find relevant.

3. your recommended solution and rationale to convince Kingo why this selected solution is

the best. You should explain and describe the selected technology and show how its

capabilities meets Kingo’s needs.

4. Using the article IT Infrastructure Projects: A Framework for Analysis by Jerrold M.

Grochow (http://er.educause.edu/articles/2015/1/it-infrastructure-projects-a-framework-for-

analysis) as a guide, you should identify what type of IT infrastructure project this will be for

Kingo and explain this in your recommendations.

5. You should identify and explain possible benefits, risks and costs of your selected solution,

as well as how you would measure the success of the project. Provide at least three metrics

or measures for measuring the success of this project. Be sure to identify how this technology

might impact (or be impacted) by various process frameworks (such as IT-CMF, ITIL, or

others).

6. You should document the recommended key steps that should be included in a plan for

implementing this recommended solution.

As an Appendix to your document, you should provide a description of the contributions of

each team member.

If you use external resources, please be sure to add a References or Works Cited section in

your deliverable and cite the sources used in your explanation. Please use APA style for

references.

Your deliverable should be a single Word document (.docx) as the consulting deliverable to

Kingo. Your deliverable to Kingo should not exceed 10 pages, single spaced, 12-point font.

The Appendix or References/Works Cited does not count in the ten pages.
